Well, it finally happened, I'm on my second M135i, the first a PWG 2013 and my current 2015 EWG M135i and between the two clocked up over 45000. I finally had the dreaded sudden loss of power when overtaking on a dual carriage way and then 5 miles further down the road a 'Drivetrain error' popped up on the i-drive. :-(
Yep the original BMW charge pipe had cracked/blown and the clip holding it onto the inlet manifold had also disappeared. (Found in the old pipe after taking out!)
Cue the Web search and review reads to find a reliable and upgraded replacement.
MTC came up several times.
The website was easy to use. I ordered the charge pipe and a new clip and paid up the very reasonable price.
Easily done and sorted in 5 minutes online on my phone. An hour or two later, I suddenly realised I hadn't ordered any new seals. I sent a quick email asking if these could be added, this was later in the evening, so I was hoping to receive an answer in the morning on the easiest way I could sort this.
I had a live chat in the morning about the order and was really happy and surprised to be told that the seals had been sorted for me FOC. Wow 👌
Many thanks for that! And the items turned up on a tracked delivery, well packed and in good time. All items recieved were of a high quality and were fitted within an hour and a half. A good tight fit.
I can now carry on driving my N55 engined motor, confident that the charge pipe will not crack under heavy load. 😉
